The more useful answer is what sits behind that number, because two workshops at the same price can be completely different experiences. Here is what you are actually paying for, and what to check before you book.
A typical beginner tufting workshop in London runs £120 to £150 per person for a standard-size rug, usually around 40×40cm, in a 3 to 3.5 hour session. Larger rugs and longer sessions cost more, from roughly £195 up to £250 for the biggest formats.

Two workshops can both say "£130" and deliver wildly different days. The price usually reflects a few things.
Yarn range. Some studios give you a limited palette of basic acrylic. The number of colours you can actually choose from changes what you are able to make. At Cheeky Studio you choose from 115 colours of our own recycled yarn, picked on the day.
Pile options. Most London studios offer cut pile only. Loop pile, and the ability to mix the two, opens up far more interesting designs. We offer both in every session. (Here is the difference.)
Group size and attention. A cheaper session often means a bigger group and less one-to-one time. We cap sessions small so every guest gets hands-on guidance from start to finish, not a quick demo and a wave goodbye.
Finishing. A rug is not done when you stop tufting. It needs glue, drying, backing and a clean trim. Some places charge extra for this or hand you an unfinished piece. We finish and back every rug, and if you do not complete it on the day we finish it in-house and ship it to you at no extra cost.
Hidden extras. Watch for overage charges (often £20/hour if you run over), delivery fees, and design surcharges. These add up fast and are how a "£120" workshop quietly becomes £160.
